About Citizens for Strength & Security (CSS)

Citizens for Strength and Security (CSS) is an independent political organization formed under section 527 of the Internal Revenue Code. The organization seeks to raise awareness of issues important to America’s middle class.

CSS’s activities are designed to spark a debate about America’s future and ensure any discussion about our way forward includes a discussion about the priorities of working families, including health care, energy, the economy, fiscal responsibility and retirement security.

Founded in 2008, CSS is supported by a coalition of interests that includes organized labor and champions of working families. Our issue advertising has run across the country, including Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada and North Carolina.
